We are Doug and Jennifer Bonoff…
Over the last 15+ years, we have personally helped more than 5,000 small business owners and entrepreneurs establish and market their businesses online. Working together as a team, we began to provide website services back when very few businesses had an online presence, and before anyone had even heard of social media.
We built our business on the belief that small business owners and entrepreneurs wanted and needed an online presence, but in most cases, they needed guidance and help to make it happen. That premise has never been more true than it is today, and we continue to run our business with our primary focus being to personally guide and help you to reach your goals.
We understand the frustrations you face when trying to get your business up and running in today’s digital world. There is so much information available, and the learning curve can be very steep. Taking on the Internet marketing and social media marketing world can be a confusing and very expensive proposition… especially if are inexperienced at it, and on your own.
We are in tune with the ever changing Internet, mobile, and social media marketing landscape. We cut through the clutter to provide you with cutting edge web, mobile, and social media tools and marketing services so you can be successful in today’s digital world.
Most importantly, we offer you personal service. Whether you live next door in Rhode Island, or across the globe in Australia, we pride ourselves on building and maintaining a personal connection with our customers.
We truly care about you, and are most proud of our work ethic and dedication to your business success. Our phone line is always open – feel free to call 401-293-0755 to speak with us personally about your needs.
A Little History from Jennifer…
In 1998, I graduated from Yale University with a degree in Political Science. I was confused and torn after graduation and did not follow the “traditional” role of applying to grad school or seeking out an entry job in the big city. In my heart and soul, I was an entrepreneur. With that knowledge, and with the help and partnership of my husband, Doug, we set out on a journey together that still defines our lives today.
It was certainly a struggle, but in just over a year, we established a successful website design and Internet Marketing business. Doug and I decided to sell that business after just 18 months of operation to a private investor.
The sale of our first business was featured in the August 2004 issue of Inc. Magazine which focused on “How to Build Your Company’s Value.” At that time, we had over 12,000 subscribers to our online newsletter, and 2,000 active customers from around the world – the United States, Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and South Africa.
It was a fast and intense ride, but a necessary foundation for what was to follow…
After the sale of the first business, I wrote and published a 224 page book, “Zero To Six Figures,” which tells our story of home-business success, and walks readers step-by-step through the process of starting their own businesses from home on the Internet. Doug and I were also featured in a “home business success” TV special. I have included a clip from that special below:
Doug and I continued our entrepreneurial endeavors together by establishing The Home Business People, Inc. in 2002, and it is still active today providing website, mobile, social media, and lead generation services to customers around the world.
Over the years, I have developed a true passion for teaching, and also for learning. To improve my skills and venture into academia, I made the decision to pursue higher education. My graduation from Yale seemed so long ago, yet in 2010, at the age of 34, I jumped back in and received a Master’s Degree in Technological Commercialization from Northeastern University. After graduation, I was accepted into a doctoral program at the University of Rhode Island. I am currently a 5th year PhD student at URI, and will soon hold a PhD in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing (expected graduation date of 08/2016).
In addition to being a business owner and entrepreneur for the last 15 years, I am also a marketing instructor for both undergraduate and graduate level students at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. I am also both the Marketing Department Coordinator and the Assistant Department Chair of the Business Studies and Economics Department. I have the wonderful privilege and responsibility to educate students to harness the full potential of the new digital environment, while simultaneously maintaining a focus on personal integrity and social justice.
My business background plays an essential role in my preparedness to educate and research at the highest level. I bring energy and enthusiasm into the classroom while infusing real-world business examples and experience into the material. I have a true passion for teaching, a unique connection to the students, and I thrive in the role of an innovator. I bring that same passion and enthusiasm to our business, and strive to educate our customers to make them proficient and comfortable working and marketing in the digital world.
